Some online services suspended

For the sake of prudence, the Electrical & Mechanical Services Department announced that it suspended several online services after it suspected that part of its network system had been hacked.   Apart from explaining that the initial decision to temporarily suspend some online services was due to an abnormality found in the network system today, the department expressed that it is very concerned about the incident.   An initial investigation revealed that no leakage of personal data has been found.    Online services including Registration & Permit Office Appointment Booking, the Online Continuous Professional Development Training Platform for Registered Electrical Workers and the electronic platform for the lift and escalator trade have been suspended.   For prudence's sake, the department made it clear that it will notify people concerned and added that if anyone encounters any suspicious circumstances, they should report it to Police promptly.   It apologised

1.09m vaccine doses given

About 1,091,100 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 719,900 people receiving their first dose and about 371,200 people getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 375,600 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 344,300 people have received the BioNTech one.    For the second dose, about 223,100 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 148,100 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 3,600 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   Among them, about 3,200 people received the jab at eight community vaccination centres (CVCs), while about 400 were inoculated at private doctors and clinics participating in the programme.   Around 10,400 people received their second dose of the Sinovac vaccine today, including about 9,800 people vaccinated at CVCs and about 600 people through private doctors and clinics.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 18,900 people received their first dose at 21 CVCs and about 900 people received their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at eight CVCs is 97%, while that of the BioNTech vaccine at 21 CVCs is about 95%.   As of 8pm, about 3,300 people had booked their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online, while about 14,800 had reserved their first and second doses of the BioNTech jab.   As of midnight, 14 people were sent to hospital.
