Patrick Nip views jab service

Secretary for the Civil Service Patrick Nip visited the headquarters of Sun Hung Kai Properties today to view the administration of a COVID-19 vaccine to its staff through the Government’s outreach vaccination service.   Sun Hung Kai Properties is the first property developer to participate in the outreach vaccination service. About 200 staff members received the BioNTech jab at its Wan Chai headquarters today. The company grants staff vaccination leave on the day they get the jab and the following day.   Mr Nip said: “Staff members of developers and their subsidiary property management companies have a wide range of contact with the public. People can protect themselves and their families by receiving COVID-19 vaccines. HK reports 7 COVID-19 cases

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating seven additional COVID-19 cases, of which six are imported and one is epidemiologically linked with a local case.   The linked case involves a 20-year-old student who is the sister of the case announced on June 5.   As a close contact, she was sent to a quarantine centre on June 4. She developed a cough, runny nose and diarrhoea on the same day and was admitted to hospital the next day.   The test result by the Department of Health’s Public Health Laboratory Services Branch revealed that she carried the N501Y mutant strain but not the L452R or E484K mutant gene. The Government required relevant people to undergo compulsory testing yesterday.   The centre added that the patient had not received a COVID-19 vaccine.   A total of 26 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, including two local cases of which one is from unknown sources.   For information and health advice on COVID-19, visit the Government's dedicated webpage.
