DC reform meetings held

The Government held exchange meetings on the theme of improving the district governance system and reforming the District Councils (DCs) at the Central Government Offices today.   Over 80 Hong Kong Special Administrative Region deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC) and Hong Kong SAR members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) were there to exchange views on improving the district governance system and supporting the District Council election.   Chief Executive John Lee noted that it is the first major citywide election after improving the district governance system and reforming the DCs, and is of particular significance.   He said it also marks the final mile for the full implementation of the principle of “patriots administering Hong Kong” in the district governance structure.   The Chief Executive also noted that the election is of great significance to the good governance and the long-term st

Voter register open for inspection

The 2021 provisional register and the omissions list for the Rural Representative Election (RRE) are available for eligible organisations and people’s inspection until September 9.   People may visit the RRE Voter Registration Information Enquiry System through the Rural Representative Election website to check their own registration particulars and whether they are listed on the omissions list.   A full copy of the provisional register and the omissions list can be inspected during office hours at the Electoral Registration Officer’s office at the Home Affairs Department, 30/F Southorn Centre, 130 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai.   Anyone who considers a registered person ineligible for registration can lodge a notice of objection by September 9.   Those who have made an application for registration but whose name is not recorded in the register, or is included in the omissions list, or has a claim to make about their details in the register, can lodge a notice of claim during the same period.   Objection and claim notices can be downloaded online.        Call 2152 1521 for enquiries.
