CE hosts seminar on ‘two sessions’

Chief Executive John Lee today held a seminar on learning the spirit of the "two sessions" - the second session of the 14th National People's Congress and the second session of the 14th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee.   The seminar was aimed at enabling the participants to have a deeper understanding of the essence of the "two sessions" and its significance to Hong Kong's development.   Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Director Zheng Yanxiong shared his views at the seminar.   Mr Zheng pointed out that the Hong Kong SAR has to grasp the spirit of the "two sessions" focusing on seven aspects - the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping; the significant achievements of the country on all fronts over the past year; the determination and confidence in national economic and social development; the tenet that high-quality d

8.31m vaccine doses administered

About 8,316,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 4,387,300 people receiving their first dose and around 3,928,700 getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 1,593,200 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 2,794,100 people got the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 1,437,500 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 2,491,200 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 37,500 people received jabs under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   Around 3,800 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 8,200 people received their second dose.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 7,300 people received their first dose and around 18,100 people got their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at community vaccination centres is about 95% while it is about 90% for the BioNTech one.   As of 8pm, about 900 people booked their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online, while about 4,000 reserved their first and second doses of the BioNTech jab.   As of midnight, five people were sent to hospitals.
