Some online services suspended

For the sake of prudence, the Electrical & Mechanical Services Department announced that it suspended several online services after it suspected that part of its network system had been hacked.   Apart from explaining that the initial decision to temporarily suspend some online services was due to an abnormality found in the network system today, the department expressed that it is very concerned about the incident.   An initial investigation revealed that no leakage of personal data has been found.    Online services including Registration & Permit Office Appointment Booking, the Online Continuous Professional Development Training Platform for Registered Electrical Workers and the electronic platform for the lift and escalator trade have been suspended.   For prudence's sake, the department made it clear that it will notify people concerned and added that if anyone encounters any suspicious circumstances, they should report it to Police promptly.   It apologised

8.71m COVID-19 jabs given

About 8,715,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 4,503,600 people receiving their first dose and around 4,211,400 getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 1,633,400 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 2,870,200 people got the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 1,526,500 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 2,684,800 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 22,600 people received jabs under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   Around 2,100 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 5,900 people received their second dose.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 3,500 people received their first dose and around 11,200 people got their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at community vaccination centres is about 95%, while it is about 88% for the BioNTech one.   As of midnight, four people were sent to hospital.
