DC reform meetings held

The Government held exchange meetings on the theme of improving the district governance system and reforming the District Councils (DCs) at the Central Government Offices today.   Over 80 Hong Kong Special Administrative Region deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC) and Hong Kong SAR members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) were there to exchange views on improving the district governance system and supporting the District Council election.   Chief Executive John Lee noted that it is the first major citywide election after improving the district governance system and reforming the DCs, and is of particular significance.   He said it also marks the final mile for the full implementation of the principle of “patriots administering Hong Kong” in the district governance structure.   The Chief Executive also noted that the election is of great significance to the good governance and the long-term st

HK records 4 imported virus cases

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating four additional imported COVID-19 cases, three of which involve the L452R mutant strain while the remaining case's mutation test result is pending.   Among the patients, aged 38 to 79, two arrived in Hong Kong from high-risk places while the other two were from medium-risk places.   Three of them tested positive during quarantine, including a patient who is a close contact of a previous imported case. The remaining one tested positive upon arrival at Hong Kong International Airport.   Meanwhile, specified people linked to Golden Glory Court, Phase 1, Golden Lion Garden in Sha Tin are reminded to undergo testing tomorrow in accordance with the compulsory testing notice.   A total of 62 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, all of which are imported.   For information and health advice on COVID-19, visit the Government's dedicated webpage.
