The Government held exchange meetings on the theme of improving the district governance system and reforming the District Councils (DCs) at the Central Government Offices today.   Over 80 Hong Kong Special Administrative Region deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC) and Hong Kong SAR members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) were there to exchange views on improving the district governance system and supporting the District Council election.   Chief Executive John Lee noted that it is the first major citywide election after improving the district governance system and reforming the DCs, and is of particular significance.   He said it also marks the final mile for the full implementation of the principle of “patriots administering Hong Kong” in the district governance structure.   The Chief Executive also noted that the election is of great significance to the good governance and the long-term st

Special hospital visits enhanced

The Hospital Authority today announced that the special visiting arrangement will be extended to child and adolescent psychiatric patients of public hospitals from November 26.   The extended arrangement is applicable for visiting psychiatric patients aged under 18 who have been transferred out of observation areas.   One to two visits will be arranged for a family member in a designated time slot each week with due consideration to the patient’s clinical condition and ward operation.   Ward staff will schedule the visits and begin calling the patients’ family members in the next few days.   Visitors are required to have completed two-doses of COVID-19 vaccination for more than 14 days.   They can scan the Hospital Visit QR code found on the authority’s webpage and the HA Go mobile app to fill in the health declaration form within 24 hours before the visit, and must show the QR code to ward staff.   The authority hopes the community can understand and comply with the visiting arrangements under the current epidemic situation, noting that its hospitals will continue to facilitate compassionate and video visiting as far as practicable.
